The Yaokwa ritual is the Symbol of the Enawene community. The material technology used by the Enawene Nawe is motorboat technology. The people of the Enawene Nawe community practice fishing as an economic activity. The boats help during the setting up of dams on the rivers and fishing. The people of Enawene believe that spirits that are made because the sacred flute was broken surround them. Therefore, they must appease through a six-month ritual to evade death. When they are appeased, cosmic war between humans and the spirit is abated. As a norm, the Enawene Nawe community does not eat red meat. Their belief in spirituality is an important value held by the people. It forms the center of maintenance of order.  The people are united through their ritual activities such as feeding the spirits and fishing activities. The conservative approach to life gives different community members alternating roles that converge at a specific goal. These activities include fishing, music, dance, and feeding of spirits.

Ethnocentrism is judging people based on their beliefs and culture. Black Friday culture results from a lot of Americans going shopping after Thanksgiving due to the discounts given. The new black Friday has been taken over that, unlike the older one, does not exclusively discount the middle and lower class. The belief in spirits who need to be appeased is a very strange culture. However, it brings cohesion and enables the community to work together towards survival.
